Groden fell in love with island life when he first visited Hawaii in 1976. He knew then that Hawaii was part of him and would someday dominate his work. He has visited the islands many times and has taken many photos and videos for future works. When Groden first stepped out of the plane on Maui he knew that the tropical sun and beaches were where he wanted to live out his life. Randy and his wife Jean relocated his entire studio here and proceeded to get involved in the community. Groden feels that here on Maui we have a wonderful art community of small businesses and international artists. Most of the galleries have a wide range of prices and offer something for every collectors taste.

the upcountry town called Makawao, loved by art collectors. You can meet Julie,
and watch her create masterpieces at the Makawao gallery, weekdays or by
appointment. If you’re on your way Upcountry, it’s definitely worth making the
stop at the gallery, located in the heart of Makawao, right on the corner of
Baldwin and Makawao Avenues.

MAKAWAO TOWN
Makawao is a little town on the slopes of Haleakala, and
is the hub of a local farming and ranching community . There are
numerous restaurants and eateries. Old stores have been turned
into cute boutiques that sell gifts and clothing and art, among
other things. Makawao also has a post office, gas station. It's
a busy little town with a lot going on all year round. Stop in
and do some shopping, have a meal, take a scenic drive up to
Olinda or Kula.

Surfing Goat Dairy
As you weave your

Thomas and Eva Kafsack, Surfing Goat Dairy is located on 42
acres of lush, green rolling hills. They learned the craft and

visiting dairies throughout Germany, Austria, and France
allowed them to develop an image of the type of dairy that they
wanted to run and cheeses they wanted to produce, which has

Mama's Fish House
Mama's Fish House is actually a converted beach house in a
coconut grove on a secluded white sand beach. Inside, hinged
windows open to let in the tradewinds and Polynesian artifacts
and original oil paintings decorate tropical hardwood walls. The
